Well I’ve just rounded up my last full week with The Nature Conservancy, and it was a long one. We put in right around 52 hours by quitting time on Thursday. Friday came, and we were a little relieved that we lost our weather. So a much needed long weekend ensued.

We put fire on roughly 1,000 acres this week. Conducting fires on DNR, Fish and Wildlife Service, and even some TNC land.

So I have just two short days, and then I begin my new job with the MNDNR. I don’t know that I have really registered it as a change since I will be working out of the same office, with the same boss, doing the same thing. I’ll have to admit that I sigh when I think that the crew will be a little “green”. But that’s the way it works.

I’m also a little bumbed that the weather is going to be nice, and I’m sure we’ll not be able to burn right away. Actually the spring burn season is all but over. Everything is pretty green now.

So a new week, new job, and the same mission is what I’ll look forward to.
Hope everyone out there is A… O… K…

Knock 'em dead! Don't actually kill them though if they're really green!
