Daaaaa Week

We had another beautiful week in the north woods. We were once again protecting wetland/lowland areas on a four wheeler trail in Aitkin County. This time we got to work on what is called a punch-in. It’s kind of a bridge over a selected low area that retains water during the wet times of year.
A punch-in after day one looks something like this….
And day 2…
Day 3 and we are all done ahead of schedule….
It was about 100ft long total even though the picture makes it look pretty small. It was fun to do some carpentry work again.

I can almost smell the forest - sweet green trees, musty dark earth and sun warmed fernage.
I made that up... but the point being, there are a number of us that are enjoying your experiences with you.

So cool Paul! I esp. like the pic of you layin down on the job! I hope its stayin cool up there for you, today it was up in the 90s here, I didnt have softball so i got to spend the day at the lake.. the house is coming along great, drywall (is that all one word?) is all up on the upstairs... its a real house! Miss you!

Glad to be able to share my experiences with you all!!! This blog forces me to take it in, take some pictures, and reflect on what I've done and what I do. It makes me miss you all....wish that you all were here with me.... which I guess you all are. Cliche I know, but true...
So to all of the commenters, and the readers thanks SO MUCh.
Hope to have many more adventures to share in the next months

Elliot just got back from the Colts-Vikings preseason game. He got an autograph on his jersey from our favorite player, Jared Allen!! Its sweet.

It sucks I know 
I'm ready, I saw that game, and I think KO was just adjusting to a new number on his jersey...He needs some time to settle in I think, and I'm looking forward to seeing what their new running back can do. He's got a funny commercial out, so at least I know he has a sense of humor.
Awesome that El got J.A.'s auotograph, people round these parts would kill for that.
Plans after minnesota, are way up in the air, could be back home again in Indiana, could be out west or...well who knows. Jobs are tough to find right now, and this trip has struck up in me a sense of adventure that I might want to roll with for a while. It's really hard to say where I'll be...time will tell.
Good to hear from you, tell the fam I said hi, and hope that you are ready to go back to school
